The Journal of Astronomical History and Heritage (JAHH) was founded by John Perdrix and Wayne Orchiston in 1998. The journal publishes refereed research papers, review papers, short communications, IAU reports, and book reviews on all aspects of astronomical history and heritage. This includes studies that place the nature and evolution of astronomy in a political, economic, social, historical, and cultural context.
JAHH is published by the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT) in Chiang Mai. As of 2021, JAHH will publish issues quarterly in March, June, September, and December. All papers are refereed prior to publication.
JAHH is published online only and is fully open-access. There are no access, submission, publication, or reader charges. JAHH has been approved for inclusion in Scopus and is awaiting a formal ranking through them.
Hosting of the JAHH website is sponsored by the Laby Foundation at the University of Melbourne.
